Echinacea purpurea
'White Swan'
White Coneflower

Echinacea purpurea 'White Swan' - White Coneflower

Purple Coneflower has 9 species in the genus and all are native to the United States. They are related to Rudbeckia and have very much the same look when flowering. The plant has dark green leaves and solitary, daisy-like flower heads. They require well-drained soil, full sun and flowers should be cut off when flowering is complete in order to extend the bloom time. The flowers attract wildlife and provide a wildflower or wilderness look to your garden. Echinacea purpurea 'White Swan' is a new version of the standard purple coneflower with the same large orange cone, and reflexed petals, only white. Standing erect at 36”, it is a beautiful addition to brighten a dark spot in your perennial bed. Planted with Leucanthemum, it will carry on the white accent in your garden by blooming at the time the daisy stops. It makes an excellent cut flower with a long vase life.
