Description

Chaenomeles japonica 'Texas Scarlet' is a deciduous shrub that is cultivated for its early flowering habit. In late winter through early Spring, 'Texas Scarlet' has tomato-red blooms along the stems that later deliver glossy green leaves. Texas Scarlet Flowering Quince will bear apple-like fruit that will attract wildlife into the garden, this variety also has fewer thorns than most Flowering Quince and can reach 3' tall with a 5' spread at maturity.
