Tagetes lemmonii Copper Canyon Daisy

Tagetes lemmonii is a large plant that reaches up to 6 feet with a 4′ spread, with very aromatic, airy foliage and vibrant yellow daisy-like blooms. Although this plant get big it can be pruned back to a size you want, just be sure to stop in the summer so you still get blooms in the fall. Copper Canyon Daisy is a daylight sensitive plant and will bloom only during the short- day seasons, making it good for fall and early spring color, and will go dormant in the winter. This is a great companion plant to other fall bloomers such as Mexican Bush Sage and Fall Aster. This Tagetes spp. has a very high heat tolerance and is a good choice for any hard to landscape areas such as a west facing wall, or high reflective light area. It does equally well in xeric situations, as well as costal plantings. Attracts butterflies.
