Rivina humilis – Pigeonberry

Pigeonberry is a small groundcover that provides many different colors all season long. It is unique in that it is covered with small white and pink flowers, green and red berries, and red and green foliage at the same time. The berries are much loved by birds providing them with winter food, and it is also attractive to bees, and butterflies. Rivina humilis is salt tolerant so use it in your costal planting situations. This groundcover will disappear during drought only to return when given ample water.
