Citrus unshiu ‘Miho’ is a variety that was developed in Japan by controlled pollination of ‘Miyagawa’ Satsuma. Seed was sent from Japan in the mid 1980′s to the TAMU Research and Extension Center. Miho Satsuma Mandarin has an upright but low spreading growth habit and is a more cold hardy variety of Mandarin. It is also an early maturing Citrus, the fruit changes color in late summer and should be harvested in mid to late fall. Citrus unshiu ‘Miho’ can reach 10-12′ tall.
